Opthalmology
Many clients are particularly concerned when their pet develops an eye problem. The eye is an extremely sensitive structure which needs prompt medical attention to prevent loss of sight in many cases. We employ special diagnostic procedures to study the inside of the eye to help us decide on the best treatment for your pet.
In this picture we are using an indirect opthalmoscope to examine the retina of a terrier.
Ultrasound scanning
Ultrasound scanning helps us to study the internal structures of the body. It is better than x-ray in some respects as we are able to look at the internal architecture of some structures such as the liver or spleen.
We have a very advanced ultrasound scanner which gives very clear views and also helps us to observe the direction of blood flow through vessels and the heart, by colouring the blood flow in certain
colours. This is very useful when assessing heart disease.

Operating theatre
We understand that admitting your pet to our hospital for a surgical procedure is a worrying moment for all pet owners.
We have a very well equipped operating theatre with the latest anaesthetic and monitoring equipment. We also have oxygen therapy cages and post operative observation routinues to make sure that your pet has the safest and most comfortable operation possible.

Radiography
Radiography , also called X-Ray examination is probably our most commonly used imaging technique. X-rays show us the outline of various internal organs and are particularly useful in the diagnosis of bone and joint disorders.
We employ a very powerful X-ray machine mounted on a ceiling gantry to allow easy positioning. Combined with automatic processing this allows us to produce high quality diagnostic images.
